Full & Partial House Rewires in Liverpool & Merseyside

Complete and partial rewiring for homes, renovations and period properties — planned around you, worked room by room, and fully certified on completion.

Full and Partial House Rewires

Rewiring is the most disruptive electrical job there is, and the one that makes the biggest difference. It replaces the entire wiring system — circuits, consumer unit, accessories — bringing a property up to current standards and removing decades of accumulated deterioration and improvisation.

DTF Electrical carry out full and partial rewires across Liverpool, Kirkby and the surrounding areas, in occupied homes, empty properties and full renovations.

Does Your Property Need Rewiring?

If you are not sure, an EICR will establish whether a full rewire is genuinely needed or whether targeted remedial work would resolve the issues at far lower cost.

Full Rewires

Everything replaced: all circuits, a new consumer unit, new accessories throughout, updated earthing and bonding, and smoke alarm provision to current standards.

How the work runs

Partial Rewires

Where problems are confined to particular circuits, a partial rewire targets those and leaves sound wiring in place.

Chance to improve the layout

A rewire is the only realistic opportunity to change where sockets and switches actually are. Additional sockets cost very little at this stage and are expensive to add later.

Minimising Disruption

Rewiring an occupied house is entirely normal. We work room by room, keep power on to as much of the property as possible, sheet up, and clear as we go.

Alongside a Rewire

Most rewires include a new consumer unit as standard. It is also the ideal moment to add outside sockets, garden lighting, EV charger provision or additional circuits for future use.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full house rewire take?

A typical three-bedroom house takes around five to ten working days depending on size, access and whether the property is occupied.

Do I need to move out?

Not usually. We can work room by room and keep power on to parts of the property. An empty house is quicker and easier, but plenty of our rewires are done in occupied homes.

How much mess does a rewire make?

Some is unavoidable — cables need to run through walls, floors and ceilings. We keep it contained, sheet up, and clear as we go. Chases are made good, but decorative finishing is usually a separate trade.

How do I know if my house needs rewiring?

Common signs include a fuse box with rewireable fuses rather than breakers, rubber or fabric-sheathed cable, round-pin sockets, very few sockets per room, persistent tripping, or scorch marks around accessories. An EICR will tell you definitively.

Can you do a partial rewire?

Yes. Where the main issues are confined to specific circuits, a partial rewire addresses the problem at considerably lower cost.
